    • 8:00am-10:30am (EDT)
    • Andy's Cycle
    • For details on route for this May 25th ride, go to the Forum here.

Riders should expect a ride duration of around two - three hours (this varies early/late season). This structured ride will be led by club members on a rotating basis, and the route will be determined and communicated ahead of time. To avoid confusion, we'll stick to the pre-chosen route. We will make every effort to announce ride leaders and routes a few weeks in advance on the web site. A moderate (16 – 18 mph) pace will be adhered to, and the group will wait for riders who are "dropped." We will also make every effort to have a "sweeper" to assist dropped riders, so if you are one of the stronger and more experienced riders, please consider volunteering for that role when the ride leader asks.

Tour de FRANCEstown Rides Support OMH Capital Campaign
    • 8:30am (EDT)
    • The Old Meeting House One New Boston Road Francestown NH 03043
    • As spring weather beckons, it’s cycling time once again. Flex your muscles—and help preserve one of the area’s landmarks—while enjoying one of three different fun rides through some of the most historic and scenic parts of the Monadnock region on Saturday, May 25.

Starting at the Old Meeting House, an 1801 landmark on the National Register of Historic Places, bicyclists can choose the tour that best suits their own interests and stamina:

      •         Half Century Ride (53.8 miles) from Francestown through Mont Vernon, Milford, Lyndeborough Center, Greenfield, Peterborough, Hancock, and Bennington before returning to the Old Meeting House. Assemble at 8:30, leave at 9 am.
      •         Quarter Century Ride (30.7 miles) from Francestown to Greenfield Meetinghouse, Peterborough Fire Station, Hancock Common, and Bennington School to end up back at the OMH. Assemble at 9:30, leave at 10 am.
      •         Warm Up Ride (15.2 miles) leaves the Old Meeting House to cycle through rolling countryside to Dodge’s Store in New Boston and back to Francestown. Assemble at 10 am, leave at 10:30.

In addition to on-site intersection markings, all riders will receive a route map, noting historic sites along the ride, plus a “feedbag” to keep them energized and, on their return, lunch and tours of the Old Meeting House. To maintain this historic landmark that one historian has called “an architecturally magnificent building,” Old Meeting House Trustees have launched a 5-year Capital Fund Drive. And Tour de Francestown fun rides will contribute to that fundraising effort.

A number of area businesses have pledged their support for the Tour de Francestown. To date, sponsors include Belletete's Hardware, Bellows-Nichols Insurance Agency, Francestown Sand & Gravel, Harvester Market in Greenfield, and Lake Sunapee Bank in Peterborough.

Register online at Active.com for $25. For map, feedbag, and lunch, please sign up by May 22. While on-site registration will be accepted on May 25 at the Old Meeting House (One New Boston Rd., Francestown), the fee on that date cannot include map, feedbag, or lunch.
